LANTIME: Using the Web Interface to Backup Your Configuration to a USB Storage Medium

Requirements: USB storage medium (e.g., flash drive, hard disk, formatted as FAT32 with read/write permissions)

1. First log in to the Web Interface.
2. Navigate to the System tab, expand the Configuration & Firmware Management panel, then click on Download for the appropriate configuration. This will trigger a download for a .tgz archive file.
3. Open or extract this file (e.g., using 7-Zip under Windows). Then, if necessary, open or extract the .tar archive file inside that. Please do not extract the “.” (period) directory directly, as most operating systems do not support it as a directory name.
4. Once the contents of the “.” folder in the archive are extracted into a folder, your target folder should look something like this:
5. Extract everything into a Folder, that folder should now look like this:

1. Plug the USB device into your PC. Make sure that it is completely empty and formatted as FAT32.
2. Create and open a directory called “Lantime”. Please ensure that the capitalization is as described here.
3. Inside the “Lantime” directory, create a subdirectory called “Config”. Again, please ensure that the capitalization is as described here. 4. Inside the “Config” subdirectory, create another subdirectory called “USB_Backup”. As before, ensure that the capitalization is as described here.
5. Inside the “USB_Backup” subdirectory, create a subdirectory named either “ANY_SN” (all capitals) or named only with the serial number of your device. The serial number can be found in the Web Interface under the “Main” tab.

Note: If you create an “ANY_SN” subdirectory, this configuration will be deployable to any compatible LANTIME system. If the subdirectory name is the specific serial number of the device, that configuration will only be deployable to the LANTIME system with that serial number.

If this process has been done correctly, the resultant path should be:

[USB Drive]/Lantime/Config/USB_Backup/ANY_SN

or

[USB Drive]/Lantime/Config/USB_Backup/[Serial Number]/

6. Open the path above and copy all of the files into it that you obtained from the .tgz archive in the process “Downloading the Configuration Archive” above. A directory of the path above

If the directory structure is correct, the path [USB Drive]/Lantime/Config/USB_Backup/[Serial Number]/mybuild should be a text file containing the current build version of your LANTIME's system LTOS.

7. You can now connect the USB storage medium to your LANTIME system and import your configuration to another device, or restore your LANTIME system's configuration at a later stage with that USB storage medium.
